At Kraken Charters, we adhere to the strictest environmental and social guidelines, from sourcing to manufacturing to packaging. Similarly, Kraken Charters factories, warehouses, corporate offices, and retail stores across the globe all meet—if not exceed—proper working conditions and environmental standards. Here’s a closer look at our standard practices, which we also enforce with all of our vendors and suppliers.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Achieving true sustainability is a years-long process, which we’ve already begun by announcing plans to be carbon-neutral by 2025. We now exclusively work with factories that reduce water waste, and we only print on sustainably sourced paper. We’ve also started using biodegradable or composable materials in all of our shipments and at our corporate office, taking millions of single-use plastics out of landfills by the end of 2019.

Eco-friendly Packaging And Materials

We are committed to being as environmentally-friendly wherever possible. We’ve implemented biodegradable plastic from BDP in our plastic packaging. We currently use hand-tags made from recycled materials as well as paper packing on the shirt collars. For delivery, we use biodegradable bags and carbon-neutral boxes.

Compliance with Laws

We have and will always comply with national, local, and other relevant laws and regulations where applicable. Our suppliers and vendors are required to do the same.

Human Rights and Hiring Practices

We’re committed to creating and maintaining a safe respectful work environment that’s free of discrimination and harassment. We hold our suppliers and vendors across the globe to the same standards. Suppliers must have hiring practices that verify accurately age and ability to work legally. All persons working must have voluntarily agreed to all employment terms.

Discrimination

We do not and will not condone discrimination in any form. Kraken Charters and its suppliers will never discriminate against any workers based on age, disability, ethnicity, creed, gender, marital status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law in hiring and other employment practices.

Prohibition of Child Labor

We at Kraken Charters do not tolerate any use of child labor. Suppliers must not use child labor, defined as children under the age of 15 or younger than the legal mandatory age for completing one’s education. Workers under the age of 18 shall not perform work that may jeopardize their health or safety.

Safety and Health in the Workplace

We provide workplaces that are safe, clean, and not harmful to the health of employees or independent contractors. Any working conditions at the workplace, stores, or factories that violate applicable law and/or regulation are strictly prohibited.

Confidentiality

Employees, vendors, and suppliers at Kraken Charters will not disclose to others or use for their own purposes or the purposes of others any trade secrets, confidential information, knowledge, designs, data, skills, or any other information which Kraken Charters identifies as confidential.
